Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 May 2026 · Effective on launch

1. Who we are

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Executive Protection London Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number to be inserted), with its registered office at 35 Berkeley Square, Mayfair, London, W1J 5BF, United Kingdom ("Tier 1 Protection", "we", "us"). You can contact us via our contact form.

2. What these Terms cover

These Terms govern your use of our online training platform at tier1-protection.co.uk and any subdomain (the "Platform"), including the courses, practice tests, final examinations, certificates and related features (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing a course, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and purchase a course. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Each account is for one individual only — accounts may not be shared, and certificates are tied to a verified identity (see Section 8).

5. Courses, pricing and payment

Courses are offered at three tiers:

  • Entry access — limited preview content.
  • Single module — full access to one purchased module.
  • Full bundle — full access to all modules in the catalogue.

Current prices are displayed on the Platform at the point of purchase. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). VAT treatment will be made clear at checkout. We may change prices for new purchases at any time; any change will not affect access already purchased.

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. ("Stripe"). We do not receive or store your full card details. By submitting a payment you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge the amount shown.

6. Access and licence

Once payment has cleared, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the purchased content for your own learning. Access is provided indefinitely, but we may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms (see Section 12).

All course materials — text, video, audio, images, questions, route exercises, and accompanying software — remain the intellectual property of Tier 1 Protection or its licensors. You may not reproduce, redistribute, publicly post, sell, sublicense or create derivative works from any part of the content.

7. Refunds and cancellation

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel an online purchase for a refund. Because our courses are digital content delivered immediately on purchase, you expressly consent at checkout to immediate access and you acknowledge that, by doing so, you lose the right to cancel for a refund once the content has been accessed.

If you have not accessed any course content within the 14-day window, you may request a refund via our contact form. Identity verification (see Section 8) is provided at no additional charge, but the number of verification attempts per account is limited.

8. Identity verification before certification

To prevent forged or impersonated certificates, every certificate holder must complete a one-time identity check before a certificate can be issued, viewed, downloaded, or scanned for verification. The check is performed by Stripe Identity and consists of a government-issued photo identification document and a short live selfie.

We do not receive or store any image of your document or selfie — Stripe holds those directly. We receive only the verified first name, last name, and the issuing country, which appear on the certificate. You may make up to five verification attempts; after that, please contact us.

9. Final tests and proctoring

Final tests are time-limited and proctored: while you take a final test, the Platform captures periodic webcam snapshots and may detect tab-switching or focus loss. You will be asked to confirm camera access before a test begins, and submitting a test signifies your agreement to be proctored for that attempt.

Captured images are used solely to confirm the identity and integrity of the test attempt. They are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed (see our Privacy Policy for retention details). Tampering, impersonation, or use of unauthorised aids is grounds for the test attempt — and any resulting certificate — to be invalidated.

10. Certificates

On passing the final test and completing identity verification, you are issued a digital certificate carrying your verified name, the course title, the score achieved, and a unique verification code. The certificate is a proprietary Tier 1 Protection credential. It is not currently externally accredited or regulated by a UK awarding body, and it does not by itself confer any professional licence or qualification.

We may revoke a certificate at any time if we determine the underlying test attempt was compromised, the holder's identity was misrepresented, or these Terms were materially breached. Revoked certificates remain in our records and will be flagged as such in any verification lookup.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or to other users' accounts; (b) probe, scan, or test the Service for vulnerabilities except under a written arrangement with us; (c) use any automated means to scrape or copy content; (d) impersonate another person; (e) interfere with or disrupt the Service; or (f) use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your conduct may harm us, other users, or any third party. You may close your account at any time by contacting us; closure does not entitle you to a refund except as set out in Section 7.

13. Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where we make material changes that adversely affect access you have already paid for, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.

14. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.

Subject to that, the Service and the course content are provided "as is" and "as available". The Service is for educational purposes only; it does not replace formal occupational training, certification, or qualified professional advice, and we do not guarantee any specific outcome, qualification, or employment opportunity from completing it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

15. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect and how we use it.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where the changes are material we will notify registered users by email or by a prominent in-app notice and give you a reasonable opportunity to review the changes before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, save that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
